Position Summary

We are in search of a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to provide expert advice and support to the United States Space Force. This role will be pivotal in enhancing process development and documentation for space and counter-space models that aid policy makers, operational teams, and acquisition professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer strategic guidance and support to the National Space Intelligence Center in the formulation of modeling and simulation processes that bolster organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to develop and refine processes and training documentation that align with Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and industry standards.
  • Evaluate existing processes, data, and capabilities to uncover new, integrated solutions for the digitization of the National Space Intelligence Center's mission.
  • Advise on the advantages and applications of advanced tools while promoting collaboration and enhancing the integration of models developed by NSIC.
  • Facilitate the integration of vendor solutions to fulfill government specifications through analysis, inspection, demonstration, or testing as necessary.
  • Provide comprehensive feedback, assessments, and demonstrations of tools and methodologies to support modeling and simulation activities.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with clients and other mission partners.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in modeling and simulation.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following:
    • Simulation environments such as AFSIM, NGTS, JSE, STK, or similar tools.
    • Creation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models and tools.
    • Development of Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and tools.
    • Programming languages including C++, Java, MATLAB, SIMULINK, SysML, or equivalents.
  • Demonstrated analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in drafting documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in mission-level modeling and simulation.
  • Modeling and simulation expertise related to sensors, radar, electronic warfare, communication links and protocols, space, and satellite systems.
  • Experience in statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with methods and techniques for digitization, integration, and optimization of processes, system components, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Understanding of complex IT analysis concepts and capabilities to assess the feasibility of new systems and ensure successful integration with existing infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of data science principles, including data-driven algorithms, statistical methods, data analytics, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $98,000, reflecting the typical salary based on experience, location, and other relevant factors.
