Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist II to join our team at Bozeman Health. As a Cytotechnologist II, you will play a critical role in maintaining all cytology data in accordance with CAP standards. This is a coordinator position that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examines cell samples to detect abnormalities in the color, shape, or size of cellular components and patterns.
  • Submits slides with abnormal cell structures to pathologists for further examination.
  • Documents specimens by verifying patients and specimens information.
  • Prepares and analyzes samples such as papanicolaou (PAP) smear body fluids and fine needle aspirations (FNAs) to detect abnormal conditions.
  • Maintains effective laboratory operations by adhering to standards of specimen collection, preparation, or laboratory safety.
  • Adjusts, maintains, or repairs laboratory equipment such as microscopes.
  • Performs karyotyping or organizing of chromosomes according to standardized ideograms.
  • Assigns tasks or coordinates task assignments to ensure adequate performance of laboratory activities.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a School of Cytotechnology accredited program by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
  • Montana Licensure (Clinical Laboratory Scientist).
  • Cytotechnologist (ASCP) Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' of Cytotechnology experience.
