Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Aircraft Component Technician to join our team at General Dynamics. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and overhaul of internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical guidance and leadership while performing complex repairs and overhauls of aircraft components.
  2. Operate and maintain precision measuring and inspect tools, and perform functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical aircraft components.
  3. Inspect and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts, components, and equipment.
  4. Remove and install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for various aircraft models.
  5. Provide technical support to Customer Support Coordinators and Technical Services.
  6. Perform complex troubleshooting and subsequent repairs to electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
  7. Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses.
  8. Assist with training Aircraft Component Repair Technicians.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years of experience in aircraft component repair and overhaul, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine shop practices and CNC/conventional machining experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and other technical data.
  • Proficiency in operating all tools and equipment in the department.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires up to 25% travel. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence.
