Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner to join our team at CDM Smith. As a key member of our transportation planning group, you will contribute to the development of innovative transportation solutions that meet the needs of our clients and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the acquisition and analysis of transportation data, including demographic, economic, land use, and environmental data.
  • Perform complex traffic analysis and forecasting, including the use of Vissim, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS software.
  • Develop and implement transportation plans and policies that promote safe and efficient movement of people and goods.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their transportation needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Conduct safety analysis and develop strategies to reduce crashes and improve road safety.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply that knowledge to improve our services and solutions.
Requirements
  • Masters degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field, or 7 years of experience in transportation planning.
  • At least 5 years of experience with traffic engineering, modeling, and safety analysis.
  • Proficiency in software such as Vissim, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, ArcGIS, and statistical modeling tools.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
