Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this Certified Nursing Assistant position is to provide routine daily nursing care and services to patients in accordance with their care plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide and document personal care to assigned patients in a manner conducive to their safety and well-being.
  • Promote and support the greatest possible degree of independence for patients.
  • Advise supervising charge nurses of patients' status at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Contribute knowledge of patients' conditions and document observations as required.
  • Promote a safe and clean environment.
  • Comply with requirements of procedures for safe lifting and/or safe transfer of patients per established policies and procedures.
  • Assure that equipment is charged, clean, and functional at all times and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Attend in-service training programs to maintain nursing assistant certification annually.
  • Perform incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks as may be required to maintain a clean, hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
  • Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
  • Attend Patient Care Management Systems weekly in-service and incorporate into the delivery of patient care.
  • Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
