Dental Patient Coordinator Job Summary

The Dental Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience at United Family Medicine. This position is responsible for coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient care and scheduling appointments
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to patient inquiries
  • Review daily schedules and confirm next-day appointments
  • Discuss COVID-related conditions with patients and update health alerts accordingly
  • Assist with referrals, scheduling, and maintaining patient information
  • Conduct chart reviews for dental providers and schedule patient treatment as needed
  • Work collaboratively with dental billing and medical departments
  • Prescribe medications and assist with pharmacy information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Two years of post-secondary education or training
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a medical or dental office, clinic, or call center
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in using computer systems, including dental OCHIN Wisdom
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective communication
  • Strong keyboard skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual or fluent in English and Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Amharic, or Tigrinya
  • Experience working with the EPIC system
  • Previous experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center or community clinic
