As a Mechanical Engineer at the University of Texas at Austin, you will design and develop scientific instrumentation and mechanical equipment, leveraging your expertise to drive innovation and advancement in the field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing detailed requirements, models, and analyses for new projects
  • Collaborating with project leadership and staff to contribute to the development of design concepts and requirements
  • Prototyping and supporting analyses, with a focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Producing fabrication drawings and overseeing the fabrication of designed parts
  • Directing, coordinating, or assisting in the assembly, deployment, commissioning, and field support of developed instrumentation and mechanical equipment
  • Documenting projects and submitting technical reports and project results to management
  • Participating in design reviews and publishing journal articles to advance the engineering skill set and identify new technologies

Additional responsibilities may include performing other functions as required to support business needs.
