Job Title: Applications Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team at HR Collaboration Group LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and developing custom equipment solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and support project execution to ensure intended scope is maintained and projects are both profitable and effective for the intended use of the customer.
  • Develop and review custom equipment proposals, including rough order of magnitude (ROM), budgetary, and firm fixed price quotes, to understand customer specifications and requirements.
  • Support the sales team to ensure quotes are developed in accordance with customer specifications, budget, and timing requirements.
  • Perform concept development, solution development, and Roboguide simulations to ensure business goals are achieved.
  • Review completed project material cost and labor performance to optimize cost estimates of future opportunities.
  • Support sales as needed with customer visits, technical reviews, and proposal reviews to ensure we are exceeding customer expectations.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the proposal, estimating tools, and processes to ensure we are as effective as possible.
  • Maintain the standard cost database for materials and labor to review and discuss with Management.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive Engineering and Project Management experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: N/A.
  • Functional Skills: Excellent planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills. Detail-oriented and thorough. Requires solid math, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects and due dates within budgets.
  • Technology Skills: Advanced PC skills, Microsoft Office skills, and experience in custom equipment machine building, including robotic integration, part feeding systems, and conveyance solutions. Experience with 3D modeling and Robotic Simulation Software preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and work with others effectively.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills; ability to listen to ideas and implement the best enhancements. Ability to be positive, conceptualize, and initiate projects effectively, looking for enhancements. Versatility/flexibility is also key to perform various portions of multiple projects. Ability to support, mentor, and train others.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise. Potential for annual profitability bonus.

Reports To: Applications Engineering Manager.

Core Hours: 8 am - 5 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe).

Typical Work Week: M-F; some weekends [OT] required (when applicable); 40 - 45 hours a week on average.

Direct Reports: None.

Travel: Limited.
