Discover a challenging opportunity to excel in disaster mitigation with Tidal Basin Government Consulting. As a Hazard Mitigation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients in implementing their Hazard Mitigation Programs and ensuring the success of various HM programs.
Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in emergency management, mitigation concepts, and project management principles. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- FEMA Grant Program Management: Collaborate with clients to administer and monitor program support assistance for effective mitigation program delivery.
- Program Coordination: Serve as a coordinator and liaison between clients and our team regarding FEMA mitigation grant programs.
- Project Lead: Oversee HMA contract work as assigned, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A bachelor's degree in emergency management, engineering, or a related field; alternatively, seven years of emergency management experience.
- 3-5+ years of progressively responsible experience in HM work at local/state government agencies, special districts, federal agencies, utility, private non-profit, university, or college.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and directives related to Federal mitigation grants, including HMGP, FMA, BRIC, etc.
- Understanding of natural hazards and basic techniques to reduce future hazard damages on the existing built environment.
Tidal Basin Government Consulting offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Salary: $92,500 per year
