Job Overview

Position Summary

At Boeing, we are dedicated to innovation and teamwork to enhance the world we live in. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion shapes our workplace culture, fostering an environment that is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive, providing ample opportunities for professional advancement. Join us in shaping the future.

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is on the lookout for Systems Engineers for Separating U.S. Servicemembers to contribute to Air Dominance and various other initiatives in the St. Louis, Missouri area. The Air Dominance team is at the forefront of developing some of the most advanced and technically challenging defense systems and mission capabilities available in the market. This region is vibrant and expanding as we support numerous new product development efforts.

We are currently seeking candidates across a wide spectrum of experience levels, including Associate, Experienced, or Senior.

As a vital member of the BDS program, you will employ a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle-balanced systems and solutions. Your role will involve assessing customer and operational requirements to define and coordinate system performance criteria, integrating technical parameters, and ensuring compatibility across all physical, functional, and program interfaces. Expect to engage in a diverse array of analyses aimed at defining and optimizing the overall system design and architecture to guarantee mission success.

Embark on the next phase of your engineering career and expand your professional journey with Boeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all facets of Systems Engineering throughout the complete program lifecycle (concept definition, design, testing, and production), utilizing both traditional and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Aid in the formulation of high-level functional and performance specifications and verification strategies, followed by analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level specifications to physical and functional architectural components, and monitoring them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to meet system/customer specifications.
  • Employ Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to create system definitions/architectures and conduct trade studies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and technology specialists to fulfill the systems engineering statement of work.
  • Supported programs may include, but are not limited to: F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-15 Eagle, F-22 Raptor, T-7A Red Hawk, MQ-25 Stingray, MQ-28 Ghost Bat & EA-18G Growler.

If an offer is made, it is contingent upon the candidate's separation from military service. The selected candidate must provide their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214) within 12 months from the date of the offer or prior to an official start date, whichever occurs first.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is mandatory.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation.
  • Background in product/systems development and integration.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules, and metrics (i.e., DOORs, CAMEO, Earned value management).
  • Technical knowledge in system domains (e.g., air vehicle).
  • Current Department of Defense Security Clearance.
