Job Summary

This position plays a vital role in supporting the Operations team and maintaining the shop's upkeep, including minor mechanical repairs on equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks, including loading and unloading materials, storing and stacking supplies, and providing assistance to the shop crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate location.
  • Store and stack material in a safe and organized manner.
  • Provide assistance to the shop crew as needed.
  • Lubricate machinery, equipment, or parts to ensure smooth operation.
  • Position, align, or level machines, equipment, or structures to ensure proper function.
  • Perform general shop clean up as needed to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain quality and effectiveness of mechanical operations by observing and correcting for tool and equipment wear and breakage, malfunctions, and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Assure a safe environment and operations by strictly following all Company and industry safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain supplies inventory and requisition replacement purchases as needed.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A successful pre-placement drug screen and satisfactory background check are mandatory.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in reaping equipment or pumps is an asset.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in the construction industry would be beneficial.
  • Experience operating a fork lift/telehandler is a plus.
Physical Demands
  • The ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and stand is required.
  • The ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds is necessary.
  • The ability to load, unload, and move large equipment and tools is required.
Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $18.00. Full-time employees may choose from several plans of health and dental coverage, as well as access to the Griffin Retirement Plan, disability and life insurance, health savings accounts, and paid time off. Full-time employees may also be eligible for tuition benefits.
