Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our ambulatory infusion pharmacies at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight for pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage expense and revenue budgets for pharmacy services
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned pharmacy staff
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy staff providing inpatient and/or ambulatory services
  • Develop and implement competency-based staff assessment standards
  • Address performance issues and make recommendations for development activities and programs
Requirements
  • Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required
  • Minimum of three years of previous work experience as a Pharmacist or completion of a two-year residency program with a focus in pharmacy administration
  • Previous experience working with pharmacy information systems and automation
  • Education: Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of previous work experience as a Pharmacist
  • One or more years of supervisory or management experience specifically in outpatient pharmacy services
  • Previous experience with patient support programs
Additional Requirements
  • May be involved in teaching and student teaching
  • May assist with other items as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing and sitting
  • Frequent bending and walking
  • Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, and logical thinking
