Your daily responsibilities will include leading a team to conduct thorough investigations on suspicious applications and enhancing our fraud detection systems through advanced technological tools, including SQL and Excel. The ideal candidate will have a solid history of collaborating with P&L team leaders, stakeholders, and executives to effectively implement fraud prevention measures. This position requires an in-depth understanding of fraud operations within the financial services sector, covering both consumer and small business portfolios.

Your primary focus areas will include:

  • Creating and managing the fraud strategy roadmap for our product lines.
  • Monitoring and investigating any questionable applications and loans across our product offerings.
  • Collaborating with various departments to enhance procedures and provide insights from a fraud risk perspective.
  • Working autonomously while supporting teams located globally.
  • Leading the Fraud Operations Analysts and offering constructive feedback to foster team improvement.
  • Identifying operational efficiencies and prioritizing tasks to streamline processes.
  • Effectively managing vendor relationships and staying updated on emerging fraud trends in the industry.
  • Coaching and developing team members to cultivate a high-performing fraud operations unit.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in fraud operations within the lending sector, preferably in small business lending.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement fraud prevention strategies.
  • Familiarity with complex SQL queries.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong inclination to build relationships across departments.
  • Willingness to respond promptly to urgent projects, reports, or issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey issues and recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to extract actionable insights from large, complex datasets and take initiative.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to fraud operations.
  • Certification in fraud examination or similar credentials is advantageous.
