Accounting Team Lead Job Description

Savan is seeking an experienced Accounting Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the general ledger, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures and policies to ensure compliance with GAAP and DCAA standards.
  • Lead the accounting team in preparing and submitting financial reports to external stakeholders, including clients and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement financial planning and analysis processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to the accounting team on accounting matters, including financial analysis and reporting.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on GAAP and DCAA compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of Excel and financial software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification and/or MBA.
  • Experience with Unanet and iSolved.
  • Experience working for a small to mid-sized federal contractor.
Work Location and Schedule:

Hybrid Schedule (Savan HQ, Vienna, VA)
