About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Ascension Providence. As an Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, and cognitive deficits, assessing their ability to perform independent living skills and designing personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment plans using various modalities, documenting patient progress and modifying plans as needed.
  • Provide education to patients and their families/caregivers on patient deficits, planning and assisting with patient discharge from therapy services, and offering information on adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and technicians, adhering to established regulations and practice standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) in the state of Texas required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 1 month of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Acute care experience.
  • Availability to work afternoons and weekends.
