Job Opportunity: Assistant Professor of Creative Media Production

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Creative Media Production to join our team at the University of Alabama. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses focused on narrative and documentary production with traditional and emerging media.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in creative media production, including editing, sound design, cinematography, and producing.
  • Develop and implement innovative instructional approaches to engage students and promote learning.
  • Lead our Journalism & Creative Media in Los Angeles program, a faculty-led summer internship experience that brings students to live and intern in Los Angeles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines to prepare the next generation of media professionals.
Requirements:
  • A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in media production or a closely-related field.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues and engaging students with varied needs and interests.
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
