Job Title: Instructor of Creative Media Production

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor of Creative Media Production to join our faculty at The University of Alabama. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position that will begin on August 16, 2025.

About the Position

This teaching-focused position is based on a 3-year renewable contract cycle with opportunities for promotion. The teaching load is four courses per semester, with potential for additional summer course offerings in our Journalism & Creative Media in Los Angeles program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses focused on narrative and documentary production with traditional and emerging media.
  • Develop and implement innovative instructional approaches to our department.
  • Lead our Journalism & Creative Media in Los Angeles program, as well as other immersion experiences at film festivals and industry hubs.
Requirements

A master's degree in media production or a closely-related field is required for the instructor position. Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
