Job Summary:

The Prevention Specialist will act as the primary client advocate, ensuring that all services are delivered in a timely and effective manner. This includes conducting needs assessments, developing service plans, and coordinating services with external providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized service plans
  • Coordinate services with external providers, including healthcare and social services
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on safer sex practices and substance use prevention
  • Conduct HIV/VH testing and provide pre/post counseling
  • Document all clinical services and activities in accordance with licensing and agency standards
  • Participate in case conferences and meetings as required
  • Embody the mission, vision, and guiding principles of WestCare Foundation
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Two years of related work experience in Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse field
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test
  • Ability to meet requirements of Monroe County Sheriff's Office background check
