Our Software Infrastructure (SWI) group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Platform Architect to deliver a Modernized Common Technologies and Services (CTS) Infrastructure for our premier programs on our Richardson, TX campus.



Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be part of a multi-disciplined team developing, integrating, and deploying a modernized platform infrastructure for a system tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure. With a Big Picture mentality, the role's core responsibility revolves around architecting a platform that is consistent, scalable, efficient, and reduces overall program deployment times.



Key Responsibilities


  2. Collaborate cross-functionally to build and refine solutions that align with technical standards, timelines, and budgets;
  3. Investigate and present modern technology solutions to improve performance;
  4. Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions;
  5. Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions;
  6. Coordinate with the team to incorporate cyber-based solutions to the product;
  7. Collaborate across teams to define requirements and dependencies;
  8. Coordinate needs and priorities specific to the implementation with technical and program management;
  9. Ensure platform implementation is in accordance with the scope of the contract requirements;
  10. Ensure compliance with the program's discrepancy/problem reporting and review process;
  11. Use Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and processes to design and develop solutions;
  12. Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to architect, develop, and implement modern platform solutions;
  13. Able to understand programs' high-level goals and break down complex ideas into solutions and relatable tasking;
  14. Current CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain.


Requirements


  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of systems engineering experience;
  • Experience in big-picture design and architecture, designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services on Linux-based operating systems;
  • Experience with containerization using technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker;
  • Experience with implementing an on-prem cloud in VMware;
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts;
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines tools;
  • Experience with traditional compute, network, and storage architectures;
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible;
  • Experience with containerization using tools such as Kubernetes;
  • Experience with platform deployments and associated activities;
  • Experience with software development processes and architecture models;
  • Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework;
  • Background in commercial-off-the-shelf/Free Open Source Software (COTS/FOSS) product installation, configuration, and integration;
  • Strong interpersonal skills: possess the ability to communicate technical and project information clearly and effectively to peers, management, and external associates.

The salary range for this role is $96,000 - $200,000, based on the location and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, employee scholar program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, depending on individual performance and company performance.



This is an onsite role in Richardson, TX. A U.S. government-issued TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
