Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our team at Regency Retirement Village of Tuscaloosa. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, supervise and guide clinical staff, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and provide nursing care to residents, including administering medications, performing treatments, and documenting resident conditions and nursing needs.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel, and assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state-specific Nursing Practice Act.
  • Ensure that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner.
  • Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents, and coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents, and participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act.
  • Supervise nursing unit/hall, which includes scheduling and directing staff to the extent permitted by state practice act, and perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Promote interpersonal relationships and develop staff morale, and assure that inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit/hall and communicate need for housekeeping, maintenance, and dietary assistance.
  • Answer resident call lights and ensure that all residents are checked frequently, and report any suspected abuse to the Director of Nursing/Administrator immediately.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN School of Nursing.
  • Valid LPN/LVN license from the State of Alabama.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • One year experience in nursing preferred.

  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
