Work Schedule & Location:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Opportunities are available on multiple campuses with various schedules, including day, evening, and overnight shifts. Specific scheduling needs will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly wage is $21.99, with an additional $0.80 per hour shift differential for shifts primarily occurring between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Maine's Public Universities offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time and eligible part-time employees, which includes:
- 13 paid holidays along with accrued vacation and sick leave.

This is a critical role with the expectation that employees will report to work during inclement weather and other campus closures.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Performing custodial tasks, including general cleaning, operating cleaning machinery, utilizing cleaning agents, waste disposal, furniture relocation, and reporting maintenance issues.
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Ordering supplies and managing inventory.
- Coordinating project activities and supervising assigned teams.
- Inspecting completed work to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
- Providing guidance and instruction to team members.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and at least three years of relevant custodial experience.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a driving history check.
- Proven ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and building occupants.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and to exert over 20 pounds of force consistently, along with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending and reaching tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience operating custodial cleaning equipment.
- Prior experience in a leadership role or managing small projects, such as relocations and event setups.
