Job Opportunity

Pediatric Developmental Services is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students with special needs reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
  • Communicate with staff and family members about student progress and challenges
  • Develop and submit lesson plans for approval
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with therapists
  • Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support student growth
  • Engage with family members in student educational progress
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports quarterly
  • Collaborate with on-site therapists on disciplinary and behavioral issues
  • Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Special Education Certificate (according to AZ Department of Education requirements)
  • Arizona Teaching Licensure
  • Specific certification where applicable (e.g., Early Childhood Education Certificate, CC for Cross Category Specialists)
  • Experience with IEP writing, meetings, and working with K-12 children
