Position Overview:

The selected candidate will conduct intricate loan assessments to determine credit quality and administration, aiming to identify and mitigate potential risks.

It is essential to ensure compliance with internal policies, Federal and State lending regulations, and to maintain robust fiscal operations.

The role also includes providing mentorship to junior team members and offering consultation to leadership and key management partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee an internal audit framework to guarantee an effective internal control system for credit administration and financial operations.
  • Execute comprehensive reviews of loan files, particularly focusing on complex lending scenarios.
  • Evaluate documentation related to loan files, including the credit approval process, adherence to loan policies, financial analysis, risk ratings, and collateral assessments.
  • Participate in financial and operational audits as necessary.
  • Review various internal functions to ensure proper administration and documentation.
  • Act as a resource for field team members regarding policies and procedures.
  • Lead and facilitate Internal Credit Reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal credit review leadership to define the scope of reviews.
  • Foster relationships with key leadership and management through networking and encouraging feedback during discussions.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by Credit Review leadership.
  • Prepare and present written and verbal reports to management to evaluate compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Provide management with performance reports on credit administration and classification.
  • Assist in presenting findings to the Audit and Finance Committee.
  • Contribute to assessing portfolio risk and developing an annual plan in collaboration with Credit leadership.
  • Stay informed about various industries represented in the loan portfolio through continuous learning.
  • Keep abreast of audit procedures and regulations by attending relevant conferences and workshops.
  • Engage in training programs to enhance credit analysis skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in loan review, credit analysis, and underwriting within a financial institution.
  • Specialized training in credit analysis is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations regarding credit.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit and collateral risk, internal controls, and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead effectively.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Advanced auditing and reporting skills with a focus on accuracy.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license.
