Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives that promote a structured, achievement-oriented, and enjoyable school environment.
- Ensure educators maintain high expectations and adhere to the Milwaukee College Prep standards and curriculum.
- Support teachers in enhancing their instructional practices, particularly regarding student relationships and school culture.
- Coordinate training sessions for new and returning staff to reinforce our educational mission.
- Engage with other high-performing schools to identify opportunities for professional growth.
- Monitor and promote effective classroom management strategies among staff.
- Assist the Principal in conducting regular performance evaluations of teaching staff.
- Participate in the hiring process for new educators and support staff.
- Facilitate weekly meetings to promote collaboration among staff.
- Implement activities that enhance staff morale and cohesion.
- Conduct monthly observations and discussions with teachers regarding classroom management and culture.
- Ensure all students maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, while actively engaging with families to support this goal.
- Collaborate with the RTI team to address behavioral needs of students.
- Develop and execute a plan for the effective use of behavioral initiatives and values.
- Serve as the primary contact for all matters related to student discipline and culture, working closely with the Principal on significant issues.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the school day to promote a positive school culture.
- Exemplify the school's values and set a standard for professional conduct during school events.
- Oversee student interactions during breakfast, lunch, and dismissal to ensure a supportive environment.
- Organize and lead daily assemblies to foster community spirit.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, discipline, and student engagement.
- Support student recognition programs and manage school-wide events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Wisconsin teaching certification is necessary.
- A strong commitment to education and student success in Milwaukee.
- A firm belief in the potential of every child and a dedication to facilitating their success.
- Experience in a lead teaching role within an urban educational setting is preferred.
- Prior administrative or supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Current Administrative License or enrollment in a certification program is required.
