Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support the In-patient Imaging Department on an on-call basis.
Job Summary:This PRN position involves performing various nuclear medicine exams and ensuring the quality of the images produced while providing compassionate care to patients. The ideal candidate must be qualified, capable of working varied shifts, and committed to fostering a high-reliability culture that prioritizes patient safety and exceptional care.
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Memorial Hermann, you will play a crucial role in providing imaging services to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. You will perform nuclear medicine exams on patients, prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and administer radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies.
Responsibilities:- Perform nuclear medicine exams on patients, including preparing patients, explaining procedures, and administering radioactive isotopes.
- Ensure technical quality of images and collect, prepare, and analyze biologic specimens.
- Enter and monitor patient data, and perform quality assurance on imaging equipment.
- Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
- Take emergency calls within the department and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology.
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) required.
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
