Job Title: Child Life Specialist

At Boston Children's Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic activities and programs to meet the psychosocial and developmental needs of our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs.
  • Facilitate adjustment to health care experiences for patients on our Behavioral Health cohort.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Delegate work assignments to volunteers and participate in clinical training of student interns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life.
  • 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
  • General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced-based knowledge.
  • Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
  • Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire.
