We are seeking a highly skilled Somali linguist to join our team at Acclaim Technical Services. As a Somali linguist, you will be responsible for translating documents into English and providing consecutive interpretation.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate documents from Somali to English with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide consecutive interpretation services for clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure accurate and culturally sensitive translations.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship
  • BA/BS Degree in a relevant field (e.g. linguistics, translation, interpretation)
  • Proficiency in Somali language at a Level 3 on the ILR scale or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time to locations worldwide
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working with the US Government or military
  • Knowledge of cultural nuances and customs in the Somali-speaking world
  • Ability to type at least 45wpm in English and Somali
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
