Position Overview

The Senior Civil Engineering Specialist will engage in projects related to water and wastewater management, including treatment, distribution, and collection systems. This role requires strong leadership skills and collaboration with the water/wastewater design team and other engineering disciplines. The selected candidate will oversee all technical components of projects while also managing administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and direction to the water/wastewater engineering team.
  • Coordinate weekly schedules for team members and review time sheets.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities to enhance the team's presence in targeted regions.
  • Foster partnerships with W/MBE firms for project collaboration.
  • Assist in the creation of design concepts and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control for high-quality project documentation, including reports, design drawings, and specifications.
  • Support clients in the construction procurement process.
  • Oversee projects during construction, including administrative tasks and field observations.
  • Contribute to water and wastewater operations, research, hydraulic/process modeling, environmental assessments, permitting, and project financing.
  • Engage with local, state, or national professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer license in New York State.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with municipal, industrial, and institutional clients.
  • Experience in project management and leadership across various project sizes.
  • Strong communication skills in oral, graphic, and written formats.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites for technical discussions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets effectively.
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk software and hydraulic/process modeling tools is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $100,000 - $160,000 annually.
