Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Assistant to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide speech-language services to students with Individual Education Programs under the direction and supervision of a speech-language pathologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech-language services to students with IEPs under the direction and clinical supervision of a speech-language pathologist.
  • Collaborate with the SLP supervisor on evidence-based interventions to help students achieve their speech-language goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the SLP supervisor regarding information on students' IEPs.
  • Provide screening to identify students with suspected speech-language disabilities.
  • Keep progress and tracking data using qualitative and quantitative information for individual students receiving speech-language services.
  • Collaborate with the SLP to maintain lists of students on the speech-language caseload and those who are screened and eligible for speech-language IEPs.
  • Keep track of and inventory speech-language intervention materials in the schools.
  • Log therapy services using Easy IEP.
  • Provide progress reports in collaboration with the SLP.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology.
  • State license as a speech-language assistant through the Commonwealth of MA.
