Position Title: Low-Voltage Foreman
Department: Controls
FLSA Status: Hourly
Reports to: Field Operations Supervisor, General Manager
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
Job Summary: The Low-Voltage Foreman will oversee installation teams responsible for the deployment of conduit, wiring, cabling, and associated equipment linked to energy management systems, including electric/electronic controls, devices, panels, and sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and execute project-related documentation, including blueprints, drawings, and project scopes, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Provide guidance and training to installation apprentices and team members in the field.
- Develop and communicate wire and conduit run plans effectively to the installation team.
- Perform wiring tasks, including labeling and pulling wires from start to finish.
- Install control panels and connect power using standard electrical tools.
- Set up junction boxes and other electrical connection devices.
- Manage the installation of conduit and cabling support systems with basic electrical tools.
- Execute conduit bending and running as required.
- Wire panels and devices according to provided drawings.
- Organize the layout of mechanical rooms for conduit and device placements.
- Identify and troubleshoot communication issues as they arise.
- Map and install transformer banks efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair circuits, wiring, devices, and networks, utilizing a multimeter.
- Exhibit leadership and trustworthiness to both team members and clients.
- Participate in job site meetings to discuss workflow, scheduling, and project progress.
- Construct and wire Building Automation System (BAS) control panels, either in-shop or on-site.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may not be explicitly listed.
Qualifications:
- 5-10+ years of relevant industry experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team while maintaining professionalism.
- Capability to operate in confined spaces.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in control systems is required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of customer service best practices.
- Friendly demeanor and a willingness to assist others.
- Physical capabilities to perform tasks such as standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, twist, and squat as necessary.
