About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in the operating room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to infection control policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in surgical counts, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team, providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with the central sterile processing team to maintain inventory and ensure proper orientation and knowledge of equipment and instrumentation.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Less than 1 year of experience in surgical technology.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT, or completion of formal training in ST from Military/Public Health Service, or employed in ST role in a healthcare facility prior to 9/1/2009.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
