Position Overview

The Nursing Unit Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the subacute unit, ensuring high standards of patient care are met. This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, with on-call responsibilities every six weeks.

Key Responsibilities

The Nursing Unit Supervisor is tasked with:

  • Supervising and coordinating patient care through effective communication with patients, families, nursing staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Implementing and managing care plans in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, including those related to harassment and ethical conduct.
  • Providing leadership and direction to nursing staff and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) to foster a collaborative environment.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A nursing diploma, either an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in geriatric nursing is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, as well as the laws and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently.
Leadership and Emergency Response

The Nursing Unit Supervisor must:

  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.
  • Direct daily operations and functions of nursing personnel to maintain a high-quality care environment.
  • Coordinate patient care services to promote the best possible outcomes for residents.
