Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team at MorseLife Health Systems. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain all floors, including sweeping, dust mopping, and wet mopping
  • Operate buffer and automatic scrubber to maintain floor surfaces
  • Clean equipment after use and maintain in proper working condition
  • Report any equipment or furniture in need of repair to supervisor
  • Keep utility and custodial room clean and orderly
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms
  • Maintain all carpet areas by cleaning and vacuuming rugs and carpets
  • Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork, as well as windows, frames, door panels, sills, and ledges
  • Moves furniture, equipment, fixtures, and supplies as directed
  • Set up tables and chairs in auditorium/synagogue and other areas as directed
  • Maintain department linen, tablecloths, and skirts by taking care of laundry
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail. The employee may be required to spend time working in minimally wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
