About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sensor Algorithm Systems Engineer to join our Sensor Technology team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing advanced sensing algorithms for future Apple products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze sensor architectures and assess algorithm HW and performance requirements
  • Engage in algorithm prototyping, performance bounding, and validation
  • Develop and validate advanced architectures to ensure sensor system performance
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical Engineering, Firmware Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering teams to create state-of-the-art sensor solutions
  • Use estimation and machine learning techniques to analyze and improve sensor architectures
  • Develop comprehensive, cross-functional sensor system models
  • Develop detailed sensor module and algorithm architecture specifications
  • Analyze engineering and production data sets to reconcile system models
  • Author regular technical communications for executive and cross-functional briefings
  • Failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving
Requirements
  • Strong background in imaging, digital signal processing, estimation, machine learning, or mathematical modeling
  • Multi-disciplinary understanding of EE, ME, and Physics principles
  • High proficiency in prototyping/analysis scripting languages like MATLAB/Python
  • Experience in modeling complex cross-disciplinary systems
  • Experience with sensor interfacing, signal conditioning, and signal-to-noise analysis
  • Hands-on experience in system-level design of imaging or sensing systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical analysis, statistical analysis, and logic/problem solving skills
