Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Compliance Specialist to join our esteemed clients. This position provides a unique opportunity to work with businesses across diverse industries, offering strategic legal counsel on marketing and advertising initiatives while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Advise on Marketing Strategies: Provide counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
  • Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Prepare agreements for ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.
  • Ensure Compliance: Review advertising content for compliance with laws related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights.
  • Counsel Clients: Guide clients on contests, sweepstakes, loyalty programs, subscription models, and pricing strategies.
  • Support Legal Defense: Represent clients in disputes involving false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.
Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience: At least seven years of experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, or marketing transactions.
  • Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm and hybrid work availability. Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required.
