Job Title: Early Head Start Assistant Teacher

Job Summary:

The Early Head Start Assistant Teacher will play a vital role in the planning, development, and implementation of classroom activities for programs. This position requires face-to-face leadership in the program and may involve early morning responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in developing and leading daily lesson plans
  • Engage with children in the classroom and promote a safe and nurturing environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times
  • Prepare materials for daily activities and maintain a clean and organized classroom
  • Supervise children at all times and ensure their physical and emotional well-being
  • Assist the Lead Teacher with parent-teacher conferences as needed
  • Communicate effectively with the classroom teaching team and other staff members

Requirements:

  • Infant Toddler CDA credential or Associates/Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Three to six months childcare-related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
  • Ability and desire to work with and care for infants, toddlers, and preschool children
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with a variety of software applications
