Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Schenectady JCC. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities to ensure a safe and functional environment for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heating and plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality
  • Inspect and schedule repairs for alarm systems, including fire and protection systems
  • Perform manual repairs, including fixing locks, replacing windows, and other tasks as assigned
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures, including landscaping, painting, and carpentry
  • Maintain electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, changing ballast, and cleaning
  • Maintain floors by stripping, waxing, and cleaning carpets
  • Maintain the functionality of toilets, urinals, and showers
  • Repair and maintain walls, including cutting wood, hanging drywall, and taping
  • Set up and tear down for events
  • Perform snow removal duties
  • Custodial work as needed
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
  • Certification in HVAC or CMRP is a plus
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
Physical Demands
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Good physical condition and strength
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Able to kneel, squat, and bend for extended periods of time
