Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor to join our team. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to patients in a correctional facility setting.
Job Summary:We are looking for a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who is passionate about providing high-quality mental health services to patients in a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical counseling and experience working with patients with mental health issues.
Responsibilities:- Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history, to assess patient current needs and make treatment recommendations.
- Provide consultation and crisis intervention services on an as-needed basis.
- Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations, including clinical review, applying suicide risk assessment protocols, pertinent data/chart reviews, proper documentation, and consultations as needed.
- Meet with patients for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, in-person interviews, etc.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR/CCHCS staff.
- Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caretakers as assigned by the supervisor in order to enhance effective treatment delivery.
- Represent the department at formal and informal settings regarding medical, MH, and addiction matters related to clinical social work.
- Protect and maintain safety and security of property, including documentation of unusual occurrences and inventory control of psychological testing material, reference material, computers, and other equipment.
- Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the institution/facility in order to prevent escapes or injury by these persons to themselves or others.
- Give input and assist in the implementation of new programs for the treatment, training, or rehabilitation of patients.
- Participate in quality/performance improvement activities, including Quality Improvement Teams (QITs) and Root Cause Analysis (RCAs), as appropriate.
- Participate in Unit Classification Committees (UCC) and Institutional Classification Committees (ICC) when required.
- Must be a LICENSED in California by Board of Behavioral Science.
- Must have a strong background in clinical counseling and experience working with patients with mental health issues.
- Must be able to work in a correctional facility setting.
