Job Overview

This is a full-time, direct hire position with a well-established engineering company based in Austin. The ideal candidate will have experience in HVAC and/or plumbing design and project management, particularly in commercial, multifamily, educational, healthcare, and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Engineering: Create detailed designs and AutoCAD/Revit files for various building types, including commercial offices, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, and multifamily housing.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, establishing schedules, allocating resources, and ensuring timely and on-budget completion.
  • Document Management: Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering-related documents and schedules, and manage associated project documentation.
  • Field Support: Review mechanical design submittals and visit field locations to address issues, conflicts, and questions.
  • Reporting: Generate and present project status updates to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Business Development: Build and nurture client relationships to secure repeat and new business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or other Engineering discipline is required; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC or plumbing design and project management.
  • Licensure: Current PE License required.
  • Software: Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is mandatory; familiarity with HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and/or AIRMaster is a strong plus.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
