Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Addiction Recovery Care. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse addiction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead peer support groups for clients, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to share their experiences and connect with others who have faced similar challenges.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company, state, federal, and HIPAA rules and regulations, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Accurately chart client progress and maintain accurate records for insurance purposes, demonstrating attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Exhibit a positive, professional attitude towards clients, staff, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
  • Respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations, providing support and guidance to clients in need.
  • Participate in drug screening as required, upholding the company's commitment to a safe and healthy environment.
  • Create a safe and healthy environment for clients, prioritizing their well-being and comfort.
  • Perform residential staff duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Requirements:
  • Must be Peer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Availability to work evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to meeting the needs of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Ability to enforce program requirements, upholding the company's standards and policies.
  • Problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
