Job Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides high-quality patient care in general and critical care settings, administering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to treat and diagnose adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. This role requires advanced skills in assessment and application of respiratory care services in one age-specific group and intermediate skills in other age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in the treatment and diagnosis of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
  • Provide care in general and critical care settings, including specialty areas.
  • Record treatment and diagnostic information in the medical record.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience is preferred.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License from the State of California is required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
  • Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification and maintaining a current age-specific Advanced Life Support Provider certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through an American Heart Association (AHA) provider training program are required.
