Position Summary
We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Logistics Supervisor to enhance our logistics operations within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role involves managing the logistics processes, ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain, thereby guaranteeing timely deliveries and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong logistics and supply chain management background, with proven leadership skills to drive team performance and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Oversight: Cultivate a safety-oriented culture by enforcing safety protocols and maintaining current certifications for all operational staff.
- Inventory Management: Establish and uphold effective inventory management practices, including regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and minimize losses.
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a team of logistics personnel, providing training and support to ensure efficient operations and professional growth.
- Logistics Coordination: Strategically plan and oversee the transportation, storage, and distribution of materials and finished products to meet production timelines and customer requirements.
- Process Optimization: Create and implement strategies aimed at optimizing inventory levels, reducing lead times, and lowering transportation expenses while maintaining service excellence.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with production, procurement, and account management teams to anticipate demand, coordinate production schedules, and resolve logistics challenges.
- Facility Management: Ensure the upkeep of warehouse facilities and equipment, adhering to regulatory standards and operational guidelines.
- Performance Analysis: Evaluate logistics data and performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities, implementing corrective measures to boost efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on logistics trends and advancements, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the logistics function.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other tasks as assigned to support the logistics department's objectives.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain management, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing context.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience is essential.
Preferred Skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities to inspire and develop team members.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail.
