Job Summary

The Childhood Nutrition Program Coordinator is a key role at Three Square, responsible for administering front-line customer service to partner sites of the Childhood Nutrition Program. This position focuses on supporting and enhancing programs such as Kids Cafe, Meet Up and Eat Up, Mobile Distributions, DoorDash for Families, and BackPack for Kids. The Coordinator supports existing program sites and develops new partnerships to advance the mission of ending childhood hunger in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to existing CNP programs and/or pilot programs.
  • Communicate effectively with program partners and site leaders to ensure they are informed about current guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and issues from site leaders, advocating for solutions and ensuring follow-up to resolve concerns.
  • Conduct regular site visits with program partners to verify compliance with program requirements, facilitate open discussions about issues and concerns, and provide feedback and support to implement best practices.
  • Routinely gather and compile information and data for interdepartmental use and reporting requests.
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance program partner customer service and client satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date job knowledge, skills, and core professional competencies by attending required educational programs and staff meetings.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of mobile food distributions.
  • Lead and assist during mobile food distributions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with program partners, children, and the general public, both verbally and in writing. They should excel in presenting information and facilitating group discussions, adapting their communication style as needed. Leadership skills are essential for fostering and maintaining external relationships and representing the organization professionally. The candidate must demonstrate responsiveness to internal and external needs, adeptly managing multiple projects with attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus amidst interruptions.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year College or University is a plus. Two years previous experience in a non-profit sector is a plus; experience interacting with children of diverse backgrounds and a familiarity of a customer service environment is a plus, or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience working with grant funded programs is a plus.

Skills

Basic Skills: Critical thinking, basic math to include adding, subtracting, multiplication and division. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and emails. Must possess strong attention to detail. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Social Skills: Actively listens to others and demonstrates understanding of different points of view. Communicates ideas, opinions, or information in a clear, articulate, and professional manner. Possesses the ability to maintain constructive relationships, showing respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Capable of proactively diffusing potential conflicts and taking initiative to address emerging issues. Skilled in handling conflicts constructively, resolving them directly, and fostering cooperation among team members. Consistently makes informed decisions to effectively resolve problems. Demonstrates proficiency in working collaboratively within a team environment.

Resource Management Skills: Demonstrates excellent time management skills with the ability to set and consistently meet deadlines. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of the Three Square team.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Outlook and Windows-based computer software, with a strong emphasis on spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.

Other: Safe driving record, current vehicular insurance and the ability to use their personal vehicle for business at off-site locations. Employee must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
