We are seeking a skilled Surgical Nocturnist to join our team at Evangelical Community Hospital in Central Pennsylvania. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with experienced physicians and advanced practitioners to provide consults for new patients and follow-ups for established patients.
- Work a 7-on/7-off schedule, from 7 PM to 7 AM, in a newly renovated hospital setting, focusing on inpatient care with no outpatient responsibilities.
- Provide cross-coverage for Vascular & Wound patients, collaborating with Hospitalists, Emergency Medicine, and OB/GYN providers.
- Perform a variety of procedures, including drain removal, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tubes, I&D, central lines, and a-lines, as well as respond to codes and rapid responses, consults, OR assists, and manage surgical inpatients and admits.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, work closely with other healthcare professionals, and maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest medical advancements and best practices.
- Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery or a related field.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in General Surgery or a related field.
- Current licensure to practice medicine in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
