5th Grade Teacher: Academic Lead

Job OverviewThis position offers a unique opportunity to work with students in a supportive and inclusive environment. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lesson plans that align with grade-level standards, using the core curriculum, resources, and strategies. Our teachers have a laser focus on instruction that engages learners and provides multiple opportunities for application of learned content.
The successful candidate will have strong content knowledge in the subject-matter they teach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Key Responsibilities- Implement the DS Model, providing consistent opportunities for all students to work on grade-appropriate assignments using the core curriculum, resources, and strategies with frequent checks for understanding.
- Deliver strong Instruction that requires students to hold the cognitive lift and be deeply engaged in the learning, using core instructional tools to design, prepare, and deliver dynamic lessons aligned to grade-level standards.
- Analyze and use assessments to monitor progress, inform, and design appropriate responses/strategies, making adjustments as needed to support students in mastering grade-level standards.
- A valid Professional Educator License or equivalent in the state of employment (IL or MI) or proof of enrollment into a Teacher Certification program within 30 days of employment.
- Content Area Endorsement (academic expertise in related fields of study).
- Ability to review and analyze student and campus data from multiple sources, proficiency with cloud-based software solutions (Google Suite), and the ability to learn digital tools and programs as needed for the position.
