As a State Trooper I with the State of Louisiana, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety and order. Your duties will include conducting foot and mobile security patrols, enforcing parking and traffic regulations, and responding to emergencies. You will also be responsible for investigating minor crimes and making arrests when necessary.

As a member of the Archives - Facility Services Section, you will work closely with other law enforcement officials to ensure the safety and security of the public and state property. You will be required to complete a Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) course and may be required to qualify annually with a firearm.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting security patrols and enforcing parking regulations
  • Responding to emergencies and rendering assistance as required
  • Investigating minor crimes and making arrests when necessary

As a State Trooper I, you will be working under the supervision of a higher-level police official and will be responsible for providing a limited range of police services. You may be required to intervene in situations utilizing force if necessary to make an arrest, restore order, prevent interference with normal operations, and to protect persons or property.
