Aircraft Painter Job Description

At Flightstar Aircraft Services, LLC, we are seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter to join our team. As an Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for preparing metal and other surfaces on aircraft and equipment for painting, applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with spray guns, brushes, and rollers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by masking trim and other parts not to be painted, cleaning, sanding, and applying primer and finish coats.
  • Apply decals, pressure-sensitive and scotch lite numbers, letters, seals, and trim.
  • Maintain paint supplies and materials, ensuring adequate inventory on hand.
  • Mix and match paints for complex paint tasks.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of spray guns and other painting equipment.
  • Read and interpret aircraft paint drawings and follow them accurately to accomplish paint jobs.
  • Prepare and maintain simple records, such as work order documentation, turn-over logs, and time and material records.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
  • Three to five years of relevant aircraft painter experience.
  • Good knowledge of safety precautions required in performing the work of the trade.
  • Ability to lift and carry hand tools, parts, and work materials.
Working Conditions:

The Aircraft Painter will work in a fast-paced environment, frequently working in a variety of positions, such as stooping, kneeling, or squatting. The position requires the ability to work around unpleasant or toxic fumes and materials.
