Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Sales Director to join our team at Securian Financial Group. As a key member of our Individual Solutions market segment, you will be responsible for leading a team of advanced sales professionals and collaborating with regional sales directors and financial professionals to drive sales of individual life insurance and annuities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company's advanced planning strategy, working closely with risk, underwriting, legal, and actuarial professionals.
  • Represent Securian Financial at industry events and in publishing industry-relevant articles, showcasing our expertise and thought leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high-profile advisors, clients, and their tax and legal counsel, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of advanced sales support, driving business growth and revenue.
  • Lead and develop a team of senior consultants, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
  • Provide technical expertise and training on tax and legal issues affecting sales ideas and practices, marketing materials, and illustration development.
  • Direct and participate in the development and presentation of advanced sales training for regional sales directors, channel partners, and financial professionals.
  • Partner with marketing leadership to develop and distribute advanced sales and marketing materials, training, and reference materials.
  • Protect the company by reviewing sales strategies to ensure they align with our risk appetite.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • ~ 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, directly related to the specific responsibilities of this position
  • Deep knowledge of advanced sales concepts and planning strategies
  • Strong partnership mindset, with an aptitude for developing effective relationships with internal and external associates
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex strategies and financial concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Maintains presence and stays current in the greater estate, business, financial products, and financial planning community
  • Strong knowledge of individual life insurance, annuity, trust, financial planning, executive benefit, and/or linked benefit products
  • Creative and flexible mindset, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities
