Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical ICU team at Carilion Clinic. As a critical care nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care to complex surgical patients, working closely with medical, surgical, and trauma intensivists to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate an interdisciplinary plan of care
  • Administer treatments and medications accurately and document in electronic medical records
  • Provide age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, developing a plan of care to meet individual patient needs
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure
  • Obtain CPR and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications
  • Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC) and successful completion of orientation and competency requirements
