CAT Scan Technologist Staten Island/Bard Ave

We are seeking a highly skilled CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a CAT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures, utilizing computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, and follow appropriate procedures accordingly.
- Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Explain the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly, and solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
- Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment, and use imaging and peripheral equipment in a safe and productive manner in accordance with prescribed hospital, departmental, and manufacturers' procedures.
- Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
- Advanced Certification in CT required within one year of hire or transfer.
- New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification (Part 89-Section) required within one year of hire or transfer.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
